abstract The primary focus of this the present invention is to disclose a minimal conditioning approach to establish mixed chimerism to induce tolerance in recipients having autoimmune disease. Engraftment is multifactorial. Both donor and host factors influence outcome and then defining the recipient factors that resist engraftment. Chimerisms in recipients with minimum morbidity can be achieved, thus allowing for the prevention of treatment of autoimmune disease.
