Soluble protein from malaria parasite |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a method of producing soluble antigenic proteins from a malaria parasite and recovery under non-denaturing conditions, as well as to the production of malaria vaccines thereby. Accordingly, the present invention provides a process of obtaining a non-glycosylated a malaria parasite merozoite surface protein 1 19 kDa C-terminal polypeptide (MSP-119) expressed in soluble form in a prokaryotic host cell without the provision of a fusion partner to assist folding of said MSP-119, said process comprising recovering said MSP-l polypeptide from said cell under non-reducing conditions. It also provides polypeptides produced by such processes and pharmaceutical compositions, especially vaccine compositions, comprising them. |
