abstract The invention relates to a laser engravable flexographic printing element, comprising an elastomeric, relief-forming, laser engravable, thermally and/or photochemically cross-linkable layer on a flexible dimensionally stable support. Said elastomeric layer contains as a binding agent at least 5 wt % syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene with a 1,2-linked butadiene unit content of between 80 and 100 %, a degree of crystallinity of between 5 and 30 % and an average molar mass of between 20,000 and 300,000 g/mol.
