Avian lysozyme promoter |
abstract |
Novel isolated nucleic acids comprising an avian nucleic acid sequence encoding a gene expression regulatory region of lysozyme are provided. The isolated nucleic acids are useful in reducing the chromosomal position effect of a transgene operably linked to the gene expression regulatory region of lysozyme and transfected into a receptor cell, and allows the expression of an heterologous nucleic acid insert, operably linked, in a transfected avian cell, such as an oviduct cell. The avian lysozyme of the present invention can be operably linked to a selected nucleic acid insert encoding a polypeptide whose expression is desired in a transfected cell. The recombinant DNA may further comprise a polyadenylation signal sequence or a 3 'domain of the chicken lysozyme. |
