abstract |
A process is disclosed by which optically active amino compounds can be enantio-selectively prepared by aminating C-H bonds of organic compounds. An optically active amino compound can be prepared by converting the allylic C-H bond of an alkene or the benzylic C-H bond of an alkylarene into a C-N bond by using an optically active salen-manganese complex as the catalyst and an N-substituted iminoaryliodinane as the aminating agent. The use of a salen-manganese complex wherein the salicylaldehyde moiety of the salen ligand is substituted with electron -attracting groups, particularly halogen atoms at the 3- and 5-positions attains excellent catalytic activity and enantio -selectivity. |
