abstract |
A method for an aldol reaction in water, characterized in that an aldehyde and an silyl enol ether is reacted in water as a medium in the presence of a boronic acid represented by the general formula (1): R1R2BOH (1) wherein R1 and R2 are hydrocarbon groups which may be the same or different and may have a substituent, a surfactant and a Brfnsted acid. The method for an aldol reaction in water allows the production of a product with high selectivity in high yield by the use of a boron source in an catalytic amount. |
