titleOfInvention Solid acid catalyst containing platinum group metal component and method for preparation thereof
abstract A solid acid catalyst which contains a porous catalyst pellet exhibiting solid acid properties and a platinum group metal component carried on the catalyst pellet and can be used in an acid-catalyzed reaction, wherein it has a platinum group metal component distribution therein such that a value obtained by dividing a standard deviation of concentrations of the platinum group metal component by an average concentration is 0.4 or less; a method for preparing the solid acid catalyst which comprises providing a solution to be carried containing a platinum group metal as a cation and impregnating a crystalline porous catalyst pellet exhibiting solid acid properties with the solution to be carried; and a method for isomerizing a hydrocarbon which comprises contacting a hydrocarbon stock containing 70 wt % or more of saturated hydrocarbon components having 4 to 10 carbon atoms with the solid acid catalyst. The above solid acid catalyst having an above specified distribution of a platinum group metal component exhibits an enhanced catalyst activity.
