A process for producing a compression melt molded article by using a polylactic acid powder. This method is characterized by involving: (1) the step of melting polylactic acid having a weight-average molecular weight of 3,000 to 40,000 by heating to 140 to 220 ° C; 2) the step of solidifying the thus molten polylactic acid by allowing to stand at room temperature or low temperature; 3) the step of grinding the thus solidified polylactic acid at room temperature to give a powder; and 4) the step of compressing the powder, optionally serving as a carrier and mixed with other components such as a biologically active substance, in a mold at room temperature to thereby melt the polylactic acid, thus giving a molded article of a definite shape. |
