An ocular iontophoretic device (10) for delivering an aptamer (16) to an affected area of a living being's eye for inhibiting (VEGF) function therein, the device comprising an active electrode assembly (12) associated with a matrix (14) and/or reservoir wherein the matrix (14) and/or reservoir includes an aptamer (16) capable of inhibiting VEGF function. Further, the device (10) is associated with a method of treating an affected area of a living being's eye having the steps of delivering the aptamer (16) by positioning at least a portion of the iontophoretic device (10) on the eye. |
