titleOfInvention | Method and apparatus for maintaining a uniform net asset value per share or unit |
abstract | A method for maintaining a uniform asset value per share and complete fungibility among all shares in investment funds while providing for differential fees, credits and factors which may be differentially applicable to separate investors. The method permits accounting for an investor's shares to be classified into different categories in respect of such factors as redemption rights or fees due, while maintaining a complete fungibility among such shares. The methods includes monitoring general market inputs (501), tracking information on each invertor's investments (520), determining asset value per share (507), and determining net asset value for each investor (511). The present invention also makes possible a single accounting method for both domestic investment funds organized as partnership, typically not classifying investment in such entities into any uniform quanta, and offshore investment funds organized as corporations, trusts or other entities, typically classifying investments in such entities into uniform quanta such as shares or units. |
