abstract A ceramic material which is represented by a general formula: ABOd and contains Pb, Zr and Ti as main components, wherein A is (Pb1-aM1a-b) and B is [(M21/3Nb2/3-c)αZrβTiη], or is represented by the formula: PbxM31-x[(M41/3Nb1/3)e(Co1/3Nb2/3)f(Zn1/3Nb2/3)gZrhTii]O3. The ceramic material can be prepared by a sintering through a firing at a low temperature of 950°C or lower, exhibits excellent piezoelectric characteristics, in particular, an excellent elongation in the longidutinal direction (d33) and a low dissipation factor (tan δ) in combination with a high Curie temperature (Tc), and has an excellent electromechanical coupling factor (Kp), and thus is suitable for use as a piezoelectrical material for piezoelectrical actuator and the like.
