The invention relates to a method for producing alcohols by catalytically hydrogenating carbonyl compounds with hydrogen or with gases that contain hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst of the Raney type, whereby the catalyst is utilized in the form of hollow bodies. Nickel, cobalt, copper, iron, platinum, palladium or ruthenium are preferably used as catalytically active constituents. |
