abstract The invention relates to a process for the preparation of toner particles by dispersing a resin in a liquid carrier. The resin is mixed with toner additives and a liquid carrier at a temperature between 15 °C and 300 °C and a dispersion or an emulsion of toner particles in the liquid carrier is formed. Preferably, the heating, the mixing and dispersing step are carried out in an extruder. Preferably, the resin is a polyester resin and/or a styrene acrylate resin.
