titleOfInvention Chromatographic interseparation of platinum group metals
abstract The invention relates to a chromatographic method for interseparating platinum group metals from a feed solution, wherein the feed solution is oxidated prior to the chromatographic separation to reach a redox-potential of at least 900 mV, whereupon the solution may be aged for at least 12 hours to achieve maximum conversion of Ir(III) to Ir(IV). After elution of the Rh and Pt fractions reductive step elution is performed to accelerate elution of at least the Ir fraction. Iridium and rhodium are collected in different fractions of high purity.
