titleOfInvention Method and device for controlling the exchange of substances between a sample and the surrounding atmosphere thereof
abstract The inventive method can be used with all open samples or reaction chambers. It is particularly useful in the synthesis of DNA arrays for the conditioning of micro or nano titerplates with a number of small wells. The atmosphere surrounding the micro or nano titerplates contains water vapour and the wells contain aqueous solutions. Water is continuously transferred between the atmosphere and the solutions in the form of condensation and evaporation. In order to avoid either of these processes from impinging upon the other, the temperature of the sample is controlled in such a way that the weight of the sample, for example, remains constant. A micro or nano titerplate with solutions in the wells can thus be kept for several days in an open atmosphere, without any change occurring in the concentrations of the substances in the wells.
