abstract A transfusion set to be used in connection with autologous blood transfusion comprises a reservoir (1) adapted to be connected to a cannula (18) in a patient (7) through a tubing (2) and to a transfusion bag (9) through a second tubing (8). The reservoir (1) and the transfusion bag (9) are interconnected in a closed system, and a pump (10) is coupled between the reservoir (1) and the transfusion bag (9) for pumping the blood from the reservoir to the transfusion bag (9). The reservoir (1) is furthermore connected to a separate suction device for generating a vacuum inside the reservoir. The pump is a manually activatable hose pump.
