abstract | A method of producing fluids from a wellbore (11) by polishing the inside diameter surface of a downhole tubular (31). The method includes the steps of providing (99) a down-hole tubular (31) having an inside diameter (33) and being made of a carbon steel alloy or high chromium alloy, preparing (101, 103 and 105) an inside diameter surface (33) of the downhole tubular (31), subjecting (107) the inside diameter surface (33) to an electropolishing treatment to produce a smooth surface being slick and essentially non-stick, locating (113) the downhole tubulars (31) within the wellbore (11) adjacent a fluid-producing formation (15), and producing (115) the fluids through the inside diameter (33) of the downhole tubular (31). The electropolishing treatment (107) can also be applied to the inside diameter surface (33) of carbon steel drill pipe (31). |
