abstract A mutant human medium chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (mACADM) is disclosed. The mACADM polynucleotide comprises a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). The mACADM polynucleotide further comprises a base pair insertion in the leader sequence. Methods of making and using the mACADM polynucleotides and mACADM polypeptides are also disclosed.
