abstract A thermally stable polyisocyanurate foam, especially for pre-insulated pipes and fittings for carrying hot water or steam is formed from MDI and a tetrafunctional aliphatic caprolactone polyol in which the MDI index is from 300 to 1000, preferably 400 to 750 and ideally about 500. The tetrafunctional caprolactone polyol has a pentaerythritol backbone and contains only primary hydroxyl groups.
