The invention relates to moulded bodies of amorphous porous (metal) silicates with a uniform mesopore diameter, a tight mesopore radial distribution, a mesopore volume greater than 0.5 ml/g, a specific surface area of greater than 500 m<2>/g, preferably greater than 700 m<2>/g and no characteristic macro-arrangement. Said moulded bodies are produced by reacting a metal silicate solution, in the presence of an organic template, with an acid, the obtained solid then subjected to a moulding process and the moulded body thermally treated and optionally further modified. Said moulded bodies are useful as catalysts, catalyst supports and/or adsorbents. |
