abstract | A first honeycomb catalyst, characterized in that it has a porous honeycomb carrier and open pores of the honeycomb carrier are impregnated and filled with a material having a high specific surface area and containing a catalytic component; a second honeycomb catalyst, characterized in that it has a porous honeycomb carrier, and open pores of the honeycomb carrier are impregnated and filled with a material having a high specific surface area and containing a catalytic component and further the surface of the rib of the honeycomb carrier is coated with a material having a high specific surface area and containing a catalytic component in a thickness of 10 νm. or less; a method for preparing the honeycomb catalyst which comprises immersing the porous honeycomb carrier in a slurry comprising a material having a high specific surface area and containing a catalytic component, causing open pores of the honeycomb carrier to be filled with the material having a high specific surface area and containing a catalytic component by controlling the pressure in the slurry, taking out the honeycomb carrier, and removing the excess slurry attached within the cell. |
