The present invention relates to a system which allows rapid characterization of fluids containing several analytes and which, in one embodiment, comprises a light source, a mosaic of sensors and a detector. The sensor mosaic is formed from a support member in which a plurality of cavities can be formed. In one embodiment, a series of chemically sensitive particles can be placed inside the cavities. The aforementioned particles can be configured to produce a signal when a receptor coupled to the particle interacts with the analyte. In this way, using shape recognition techniques, it is possible to characterize the analytes of a fluid containing several analytes. |
