abstract A transdermal iontophoretic therapeutic agent delivery system which is provided with a plurality of self-contained serially connected galvanic sources comprising: a plurality of galvanic sources, each containing an oxidizable species and a reducible species; at least one of said plurality of galvanic sources is an active agent source further comprising: an oxidizable species in contact with a first delivery chamber for therapeutic agent, a reducible species in contact with a second delivery chamber for a therapeutic agent, conductors serially connecting said plurality of galvanic sources so that an overall galvanic potential of said transdermal iontophoretic delivery system is the sum of said active agent galvanic sources.
