abstract A statistical copolymer of formula (I) is provided wherein: A represents an end-capping unit; B is a moiety of formula (II) or (III), wherein each of R?1 and R2¿ is hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, aryl and aralkyl; C is a perylene-containing moiety of formula (IV), wherein each of a1, a2, a3 and a4 is 0 or 1, each of b3, b4, b5 and b6 is 0, 1 or 2, each of X?1, X2, X3 and X4¿ is a single bond or a linking unit, and each of R?3, R4, R5 and R6¿ is hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, aryl, aryloxy or aralkyl; and the ratio x:y is from 80:20 to 99.9:0.1. A kit for the synthesis of the copolymers of the invention and electroluminescent devices incorporating said copolymers are also provided.
