A biaxially stretched polyester film for forming which comprises a polyester consisting mainly of ethylene terephthalate units and/or ethylene naphthalate units, characterized by having a melting point of 180 to 270°C, a contact angle with water of 70 to 120°, and a coefficient of planar orientation of 0.08 to 0.15. The film has excellent releasability in repetitions of use, when used after forming, or even after use in a watery atmosphere, and has stable performances with reduced unevenness. The film is especially suitable for use in metallic-can inside coating in which the film is laminated to a metal sheet such as a steel or aluminum sheet and the laminate is formed into a can. In this application, the film is excellent in the releasability of the contents therefrom and combines heat resistance with processability. |
