A bioelectric signal detector (2) includes an electrode unit (12) provided with a pair of electrodes (12a, 12b) capable of approaching or touching a living body. The electrode unit receives a high-frequency signal from an oscillator (11), and the change in impedance of the electrode unit adjacent to, or in contact with, a living body changes the level of the reflection form the electrode unit. The change in the level of reflection reflects the change in impedance due to movements such as the respiration and heart rate of the living body, and a detector (13) detects signals indicative of the changes in the level of reflection. A signal amplifier (14) determines the heart and breathing rate of the living body, etc., based on the detected signals. |
