A scissors-like surgical instrument (20) for clamping and cutting an umbilical cord (31) to which on the blades side (30), two clamps (1) are attached, one on each side of the scissors jaws (26, 27), and two blades (30) are placed opposite each other on the scissors jaws (26, 27) with their cutting edge (32) below the level of the inner edge of the clamps (1), the closing motion of the handles (21, 22) closes the clamps (1), when the clamps (1) are securely closed, the clamps (1) relatively move forward by means of the device, the movement of the clamps (1) enables the blades (30) to get close to each other reaching a cutting position by bypassing the middle of the closed clamps (1). |
