A continuous catalytic process for reacting reactants comprised in a fluid phase, in the presence of a catalyst comprised in the same or a separate fluid phase, in a reactor provided with openings for passage of reactants and reaction products into and out from the reactor, which reactor contains a stationary phase that exhibits affinity to the catalyst and/or the fluid phase in which it is comprised, and the fluid phase(s) flow(s) from one opening to the other, whereby the flow direction of the fluid phase(s) is/are periodically reversed, so that during a first period of time the fluid phase(s) flow(s) in a first direction, while during a subsequent period of time the fluid phase(s) is/are brought to flow in a direction opposite to said first direction. |
