A static mixing tube is utilized to continuously react a compound having active hydrogen atoms such as a polyol which can be a polyether polyol or a polyester polyol with a polyisocyanate such as MDI to form a moisture-curing polyurethane adhesive or other urethane polymer. The polyol and polyisocyanate are fed in essentially constant proportion to a static mixer reaction zone, which is maintained at an elevated temperature to achieve a required degree of condensation at a residence time of about 10 minutes or less. |
