abstract The invention relates to a method for controlling the quality of the endothelium lining of natural blood vessel removed for surgical implants or natural blood vessel prostheses (1), vascular valves, heart valves or cardiac cavities. For the purpose of quality control, characteristic and selective metabolic activities and/or distinctive structural features of the endothelial layer (3) cultured on each prosthetic wall (2) and cells of the deeper prosthetic walls (4) are measured as an indication of the integrity of the endotheliasation and are quantified.
