abstract A molding powder of a modified polytetrafluoroethylene resin containing 0.01 to 1 wt.% perfluorovinyl ether units, characterized in that (a) the amount of perfluorovinyl ether monomer remaining in the resin is up to 50 ppb, (b) the content of fluoride ions extractable from the resin is up to 100 ppb and (c) the resin has a melt viscosity at 380°C of 1 x 108 to 1 x 1012 P. The molding powder can be processed in an unmelted state. It is stable and does not generate HF.
