A process for making alkyl polyglucosides involving: a) providing a fatty alcohol component; b) providing a reducing saccharide component; c) providing a first acid catalyst in an amount of from about 0.7 to about 1.4 % by weight, based on the weight of the reducing saccharide; d) providing a second acid catalyst in an amount of from about 25 to 50 % by weight, based on the weight of the first acid catalyst; and e) reacting a)-d) to form the alkyl polyglycoside. |
