titleOfInvention Method and apparatus for automatically allocating staffing
abstract The present invention relates to a method using a computer to determine the amount of personnel required for a given patient population. The computer works on the basis of data relating to numerous characteristics concerning these patients, such as age, sex, physical pathology, etc. It also works on the database relating to a representative population of former patients with similar characteristics, and on the database concerning the resources allocated to this population of former patients, such as the levels of personnel required for taking in charge of this population of former patients. Based on the characteristics of these former patients and the corresponding allocation of resources, models are created describing the correlation between this population of former patients and the allocation of resources. Subsequently, these models are used to determine the levels of personnel required to adequately manage a given patient population.
