The present invention relates to a process and an equipment for preparing high polymerized aromatic polycarbonate by postpolymerizing polycarbonate prepolymer which is formed by the melt transesterification of carbonate ester and diol compound using a horizontal tubular reactor. Polycarbonate prepolymer is postpolymerized using a horizontal tubular reactor comprised of rotational plates, several separated compartments divided by the rotational plates, and vents so that a polymerization degree of polycarbonate can continuously be raised whenever reactants move through the separated compartments, supplying rate of polycarbonate prepolymer is controlled, thus controlling residence time of reactants so that desirable polymerization degree of polycarbonate can be obtained, and byproduct, aromatic alcohol, is discharged through a vent so that discoloration of final products can be prevented in the present invention. |
