The present invention is related to GEG-like genes and their gene products capable of controlling the direction and dimensions of cell growth. These genes and gene products can be applied for altering the size shape of plant cells and/or organs. An expansion in either radial growth or longitudinal growth of the plant cell is desirable. Said genes and gene products are useful in agriculture, horticulture and forestry for manufacturing renewable plant-derived raw-material structures more convenient, advantageous and applicable in the respective application. |
