abstract |
An insect-origin gene Any-RF having a dormancy regulating activity and a function of regulating vital cells; a dormancy regulatory substance; a process for producing the same; and a cell regulator for vital cells which contains as the active ingredient a physiologically active substance having a function of regulating vital cells and causing no antigen-antibody reaction in vivo. This gene encodes a protein having the amino acid sequence Asp-Ile-Leu-Arg-Gly represented by SEQ ID NO:1 in Sequence Listing, having been amidated at the C-end and having a molecular weight of 570.959. A physiologically active substance having this gene is a peptide which can be obtained by adding an aqueous solution of acid-methanol to Japanese tusser, grinding and centrifuging the mixture, treating with HPLC and then isolating and purifying. It can regulate the dormancy of insects, etc. and is also usable as the active ingredient of a cell regulator for vital cells containing the peptide. |
