abstract |
A technique for species-specifically detecting a microorganism and its analog based on the characteristics of the genetic information of a microbial species inhabiting inherently in the deep sea. 16S rDNA having the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1; an oligonucleotide probe containing a part of the base sequence of SEQ ID NO:1; and a method for specifically detecting or identifying a bacterium belonging to (Psychrobacter pacificensis) by using this probe. Use of the above oligonucleotide probe makes it possible to highly sensitively and accurately detect (Psychrobacter pacificensis) at the molecular or cellular level as an indication organism useful in understanding the circulation of the deep-layer sea water. |
