The present invention concerns a method of controlling in a capillary the direction and transport of at least one chemical component by electroosmotic flow of a fluid containing said component, comprising providing an effective amount of at least one charged hydrophilic polymer in said fluid for enhancing electroosmotic flow and inhibiting protein binding to the walls of said capillary, wherein charges on said charged hydrophilic polymer are randomly distributed. |
