titleOfInvention Method for producing franking markings
abstract The inventive method allows franking markings to be produced in situ, consisting of subject matter, such as text and/or pictures, photographs or slogans which has been chosen by the customer. A post office, for example, makes available a device (20) which is suitable for carrying out the inventive method to said customer, in addition to the basic postal elements of a franking marking or postage stamp, such as franking elements and security markings, if appropriate. The customer interactively inserts his or her subject into the free area of the postage stamp, using a touchscreen (1). If necessary, during the creation of the postage stamp, the customer can take his or her own photograph, or that of another person, or of animals or objects using a built-in digital camera (2) and can integrate said photograph into the franking marking image. The postage stamp resulting from this process is printed using a printer (4) and subsequently issued.
