abstract The invention relates to a diffuser (13) for slowing down a fluid (9) and to a method for operating a diffuser (13). Pulsations of the impact interface are suppressed effectively at all of the operating points by injecting an energisation fluid. The utilisation ratio of the inventive diffuser (13) is considerably improved as a result of this measure.
