abstract An image recording medium on/from which an image can be recorded/erased, which is reusable as if it was handled like paper, an image recording/erasing device and image recording method are disclosed. A support containing a large number of minute coloring particles serves as a recording layer, and a support portion in contact with coloring particles is nonfluid at room temperature and fluid at high temperature. The particles are rotated/moved by an external electromagnetic field in the high-temperature fluid state, and thereby display/recording is effected. The display is fixed by lowering the temperature to room temperature. For the coloring particles, a photocell and a color filter are provided, and the particles are electrically activated by light of the same color as the coloring particles. By imparting a rotation/motion activity to the external electromagnetic field, the color of the particles are determined, enabling color display/recording.
