The invention relates to an agent for dying keratin fibers, especially human hair, containing aromatic aldehydes or ketones having quaternary ammonium groups with formula (I), in which R<1> represents hydrogen, a C1-C4-alkyl group or an optionally substituted phenyl group; R<2> or R<3> can be the same or different and represent hydrogen, halogen, nitro, a C1-C4-alkyl group, a C1-C4-alkoxy group or, together, represent a fused aromatic ring; or R<1> and R<2>, together with the carbonyl function, represent a fused 5- or 6-member carbocyclic ring; and R<4> represents a group -N<+>R<5>R<6>R<7>X<-> or a group with formula (II). |
