abstract The present invention provides a particulate compound composition which is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate (A) and a compound (B), wherein compound (B) comprises an isocyanate-reactive group and a group selected from the group consisting of carbamate groups and groups convertible to a carbamate group after reaction of compound (B) with polyisocyanate (A), and polyisocyanate (A) has a Tg≥30 °C and is of the formula [R(NCO)y]x, where x = 1 or higher, y = 2 or higher and R has Cn symmetry wherein n = 2 or higher. The invention also provides a powder coating composition having a particulate compound (a) and a curing agent or crosslinker (b). Preferably, crosslinker (b) has at least one particulate crosslinker reactive with the particulate compound (a). Compound (a) comprises the reaction product of a polyisocyanate (A) and a compound (B), wherein compound (B) comprises an isocyanate-reactive group and a group selected from the group consisting of carbamate groups and groups convertible to a carbamate group after reaction of compound (B) with polyisocyanate (A), and polyisocyanate (A) has a Tg≥30 °C and is of the formula [R(NCO)y]x, where x = 1 or higher, y = 2 or higher, and R has Cn, symmetry wherein n = 2 or higher.
