titleOfInvention Electrode for transferring an electric current through a patient's skin
abstract The invention concerns an electrode comprising a) an electrically conductive layer (5) for supplying or collecting an electric current passing through the electrode; b) a consumable electrochemical interface layer. The invention is characterised in that it further comprises an intermediate layer (6) made of a chemically inert and electrically resistant material. Said layer can be formed by dispersing fine carbon particles in a polymer binder. The invention is useful for producing electrodes with enhanced electrochemical capacity for an eletrophoretic device for transdermal administration of medicines or a device for electrical healing of wounds.
