abstract The inventive injectable anesthetic contains a hydrophilic liquid comprising a lipophilic gas. Argon, krypton, xenon, nitrous oxide or mixtures of at least two of these gases are used as the lipophilic gas. The lipophilic gas is preferably contained in the liquid in the form of gas microbubbles. Examples of the hydrophilic liquid are protein solutions or polysaccharide solutions.
