titleOfInvention | Polyoxymethylene molding compounds with improved thermostability and discoloration resistance |
abstract | The invention relates to polyoxymethylene molding compounds comprising (i) at least one polyoxymethylene homo- and/or copolymer, (ii) at least one conventional additive and (iii) at least one polymeric plastic material as additive to improve thermostability. Said molding compounds are characterized in that (iii) is a copolymer which is obtained by polymerizing in solution a mixture of A) 10 90 parts of one or more (meth)acrylates, B) 10 90 parts of one or more (meth)acrylamides, C) 0 to 10 parts molecular weight controller based on 100 parts A) + B) and D) up to 5 parts radical polymerization initiators based on 100 parts A) + B). The use of controlled solvent co- or terpolymers for stabilizing POM molded compounds is advantageous over the use of emulsion or suspension pearl polymers in terms of thermal stability, discoloration resistance and/or residual monomer contents of POM molded compounds and molded bodies and films produced therefrom. |
