titleOfInvention Fluid-bed aromatics alkylation
abstract In a process for alkylating an aromatic reactant to produce an alkylated aromatic product, the aromatic reactant is introduced into a fluidized bed reaction zone at a first location in the fluidized bed reaction zone and the alkylating reactant is introduced into the fluidized bed reaction zone at one more locations downstream from the first location. The process is particularly applicable to the alkylation of toluene with methanol to produce xylenes.
