abstract The invention relates to selective herbicidal agents which are characterized by having an effective amount of the compound 2-(2-methoxy carbonyl- phenyl sulfonyl amino carbonyl)-4- methyl-5-propoxy- 2,4-dihydro- 3H-1,2,4- triazole- 3-one of formula (I) and/or of salts of the compound of formula (I). The invention also relates to the use of said agents for selectively controlling weeds in cereal cultures, especially in wheat cultures. The invention further relates to methods for selectively controlling weeds in cereal cultures by using said agents in combination with surfactants and/or conventional diluents.
