abstract The present invention is a system combination motion capture technology and a motion platform (420) with runtime interaction in a real-time feedback loop to provide a physical and virtual environment that has many applications, particularly in the rehabilitation area. An operator (120) and a user (10) have runtime control of the system, and the data from the motion platform (420) and the motion capture system are processed faster than real-time to generate new data sets which are then re-introduced into the system. A virtual reality environment is introduced and seamlessly interacts with the motion capture process and the motion platform operations to immerse the user (10) in the dynamic physical and virtual environment.
