abstract | A permanent magnet, characterized in that it is a Fe-B-R permanent magnet which has, on the surface thereof and with an intervening aluminum film, a chemically formed film comprising at least one selected from between zirconium and titanium, phosphorus, oxygen and fluorine as constituent elements; and a method for producing the same. The permanent magnet has excellent corrosion resistance due to the chemically formed film closely adhered to the surface of the magnet via the aluminum film and thus, even after the magnet is allowed to stand under a high temperature and high humidity condition of 80 °C (temperature) x 90 % (relative humidity) for a long period of time, it maintains its original magnetic characteristics with no deterioration and exhibits stable and excellent magnetic characteristics. The magnet also has an advantage that it contains no hexavalent chromium in the film. |
